Registration Procedures and Policies

Registration and Payment

Registration and payment may be completed over the phone by calling The Cheese School directly at (415) 346-7530. We typically answer phones M-F from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. If we miss you, please leave a message and we will get back to you within 24 hours. Payment for classes may be made by cash or credit card. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. Advance registration is required for all scheduled classes, with the exception of Drop-In Nights when registration can be taken at the door.

Cancellation

For students who are unable to attend a class for which they have registered, class registration fees are non-refundable but are transferable , and unused registrations may be applied to future classes, for up to one year, provided cancellation notice is given to the school by 3:00 p.m. on the day of the original class (or by 11:00 a.m. for weekend classes). In the unlikely event that The Cheese School must cancel a class, students will have the option of receiving a refund or applying any fees paid to a future class.

Package Offers

We are no longer offering a package discount for our Cheese 101 Series. However, each class in the series can be taken indvidually. Please join us for one, two or even all three classes in the series to gain a complete foundation for understanding and appreciating cheese.

Contact Information

At the time of registration, we require your name and ask that you also provide us with your phone number and email address. We will use this information only to send you a reminder the day before the class or to notify you in the event of a cancellation. With your permission, we will also send you notices of future Cheese School events.

Class Meetings and What to Expect

Unless otherwise indicated, all classes meet at The Cheese School of San Francisco’s dedicated classroom facility at 2155 Powell Street, between Francisco and Chestnut. All classes include plentiful tasting samples – typically 8-10 cheeses, 2-3 wines or other beverage pairings, and various accompaniments. Please be prompt and be prepared to mingle and enjoy.

All of our regularly scheduled classes have assigned seating. Any individuals registered as part of a group are automatically seated next to each other. If, however, you or someone joining you has special needs or would like to sit as part of a larger group that was not registered under the same name, please let us know in advance of class so that we can make the appropriate seating adjustments.

Waiting Lists

We do have active waitlists for any sold out class(es). To be added to a class waitlist, please contact us over the phone or e-mail with five pieces of information:  your full name, contact phone number, contact e-mail, the number of individuals in your party and the class date(s) and title(s) you are interested in attending. Should any cancellations occur, we will contact you via phone or e-mail as soon as we are notified. Please note, often times cancellations occur last minute so we may be contacting you the day before or the day of a waitlisted class.
